Biography:
James Rafferty at the age of 28 married in France to a Drapery Saleswomen by the name of Marion Mair Cameron she was also 28 at the time.
Military medal: At BULLECOURT on 11th April 1917 for gallant conduct and devotion to duty during the attack and occupation of the HINDENBURG LINE. When the order to retire was given he fell back in good order with his men, but seeing a wounded officer in a shell hole near enemy wire he remained until dark and carried him in to safety.
